What is AI guardrails?
AI guardrails are the limits that keep an AI agent safe to use: what it may do, what it must never do, how long it may work on a task, and what it can and cannot reach.
Some guardrails are business rules, such as never promising a refund over a limit. Others are technical, such as stopping an agent that keeps going in circles, or blocking it from internal systems.
Guardrails work best when they are enforced by the platform, not left to the agent's instructions alone.
